Check-in with OISSS
Your Important First Step at JHU: Complete Your New International Student Check-in. Whether you have arrived directly from overseas or are transferring to Johns Hopkins from another U.S. school, this step is required to validate your immigration status. Please complete your check-in as soon as possible after arrival in Baltimore, as other necessary procedures, such as employment verification, obtaining a U.S. Social Security Number, or qualifying for a Maryland driver’s license, cannot be done until after we have validated your immigration status.
You may choose to either do an on-line check-in or sign up for an appointment to complete the process in the OISSS office.
To Check In Online. This is a quick and simple process that you can do at any time after you have arrived in the U.S. You fill out a simple electronic form and attach a single, scanned PDF file of your immigration documents. Specific instructions are at: http://oisss.jhu.edu/newly-admitted-students/Immigration%20Check-in.pdf
